Male Fertility Reduced by Cell Phones

Researches from the University of Szeged, Hungary told the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology that radiation from cellular phones could reduce male sperm production by a third. High numbers of the remaining sperm exposed to the radiation were seen swimming abnormally, lowering the probability of fertilization in the women’s womb.

What is not too clear is whether the men carried their phones in their trousers pockets or in their briefcases at waist level. Work related stress might also contribute to the effects of cellular phone radiation, Professor Evers, who headed the Hungarian study, pointed out.

What we do know for sure, is that the sperm counts are decreasing sharply but less so for farmers living in the open air, on the land and not carrying a cellular phone at all, Professor Evers added.
